Our story

How To Trenaki began

A family story of love and care for the child, since 1996.

Mary Stamelou

The Beginning

“To Trenaki” was founded in 1996 by Mary Stamelou, with the vision of creating a place where children could feel safe, comfortable and happy.

With studies and many years of experience in early childhood education, she laid the foundations for a school with a warm, family-oriented character, personalised care and genuine attention to each individual child.

This philosophy remains at the heart of the school to this day.

Stella Stamelou

Continuity and Growth

Stella Stamelou has been part of “To Trenaki” since 1998 and serves as the Director of the school, continuing its family tradition while guiding it through the next stage of its development.

With studies in Business and Organisational Management and postgraduate studies in Educational Team Management, she combines strong administrative knowledge with almost three decades of hands-on experience in early childhood education.

She is responsible for the overall operation of the school, the coordination and development of the educational team, communication with families, and the continuous improvement of the learning experience offered by “To Trenaki”.

At the same time, she is actively involved in the design of European Erasmus+ educational projects, maintaining close contact with contemporary teaching approaches and good practices from across Europe. Among the initiatives she has designed is «Read4Paws», an approved European project for primary education that aims to strengthen children’s relationship with reading through innovative educational methods.

For Stella, however, “To Trenaki” remains above all a place built on everyday connection with children and families, a place where every child should feel known, heard and cared for.

Three decades after its foundation, “To Trenaki” continues to evolve while preserving what has defined it from the very beginning: the warmth of a family-oriented school and personal attention to every child.
